T Levels seek to widen the opportunities available in post-16 education by putting technical and academic qualifications on an equal footing. They offer a blend of classroom learning alongside an ‘on-the-job’ industry placement, making the qualification directly relevant to employment.
Shaun hopes that T Levels will become one of the main choices for students after GCSE study, alongside apprenticeships and academic programmes. One T Level will give a student the equivalent of three A Levels' worth of UCAS points.

I would like to congratulate all the students across Wednesbury, Oldbury, and Tipton who have undertaken their first year of T Levels and I am delighted that the expansion of T Levels into a whole new range of subjects this week will mean that these opportunities are available to even more of our young people."
