Shaun Bailey, MP for Wednesbury, Oldbury and Tipton, has today welcomed the news that Sandwell will, as part of the Black Country and West Birmingham Sustainability and Transformation Partnership (STP), become an Integrated Care System (ICS) on 1 April.
The new ICS will allow care across the region to be joined up, bringing together hospitals, community and mental health trusts, GPs, local authorities and other care providers.
Shaun is hopeful that this move will facilitate addressing the issues which have arisen as a result of Covid-19, health inequalities, and improving local people's health and well-being.
The Government is committed to supporting the NHS and meeting the social care challenges facing an ageing population. The formation of ICSs is a vital step towards this.
