Shaun Bailey, MP for Wednesbury, Oldbury and Tipton today welcomed the news that 88% of those aged 65 and over have now received their first Covid-19 vaccine.
Across the Black Country, more than one-third of adults, 378,000 people, have received this dose.
Commenting, Shaun Bailey MP said "This is an incredible testament to the efforts of NHS staff, civil servants, researchers and many others. I extend my utmost thanks to them all. Every vaccine protects us all more from this virus and brings us a step closer to removing the restrictions on our lives. I urge everyone in the younger age groups to take the vaccine when they are offered it and to continue the great vaccine takeup locally."
