Local MP launches online event to help local businesses learn more about export opportunities
Shaun Bailey, MP for Wednesbury, Oldbury and Tipton, has announced today that he will be hosting a free online event, in conjunction with the Department of International Trade, to help local businesses learn more about the benefits of exporting and how to tap into the demand for British products from overseas.
The event is scheduled to take place on 26 May and will feature experts and experienced exporters from across a wide range of industries. It will aim to provide local businesses with the resources to start, or grow, international sales, as well as know-how in navigating the paths to receiving government support.
The event is open to all businesses, regardless if they are past or current exporters.
Shaun, who is a member of the Parliamentary Export Programme, (a group of cross-party MPs who organise and chair virtual meetings with experts from business and government), commented, stating:
‘The past 12 months have been incredibly difficult for businesses across Wednesbury, Oldbury and Tipton, as well as for the surrounding communities. I am, therefore, thrilled to welcome an event like this, which is designed to help them bounce back quicker, by showcasing the exciting exporting opportunities available to them.’
Shaun continued,
’Before the pandemic struck, our communities had been left behind for too long. I am, therefore, determined that as we slowly return to normal, we do not see a repeat of this.’
Shaun concluded,
‘Businesses are able to register for the event for free, using the below link. It’s open to all businesses, regardless if they have exported in the past or are a current exporter. Participating in the programme will equip them with the support and tools they need to begin or continue their exporting journey.’
