Remembrance Sunday parades and services in Sandwell
On Sunday 13 November, there will be many Remembrance Sunday services and parades taking place throughout the towns of Sandwell.
They will take place at the locations below
Oldbury
The parade will begin at 10.30am at Low Town car park and will travel up Birmingham Street, across the island to Halesowen Street to the war memorial in the Civic Square where the service and wreath laying ceremony will take place. Following this, the parade will re-assemble and march along Freeth Street, passing Sandwell Council House where the parade will dismiss at approximately 11.30am.
The following roads will be closed from 10.30am-12noon.

- Halesowen Street
- Church Street
- Freeth Street
Tipton
The parade will begin at 10.20am at the junction of Owen Street and Albion Street, turning left into Albion Street, left into Union Street, left into Waterloo Street, right into Waterloo Street East and left into Queens Road, where it will turn at Jack Holden Gardens. It will then continue west to Queens Road and enter Victoria Park where the service and wreath laying ceremony will take place.
Following this, the parade will re-assemble and proceed via the main park gates to Victoria Road, and follow the above route in reverse.

Wednesbury
The parade will begin at 10.35am at the Royal British Legion HQ in Church Hill, turning left into High Bullen, Walsall Street and entering Memorial Gardens (via the main gates) where the service and wreath laying ceremony will take place.
Following this, the parade will re-assemble in Hollies Drive before entering Walsall Street and turning at the traffic island near Oakeswell End until it reaches Church Hill.
The following roads will be closed from 10.30am-12noon.

Armistice Day (Friday 11 November 2022)
A two-minute silence will be held outside Sandwell Council House, Freeth Street, Oldbury, at 11am on Friday 11 November. The silence will commemorate the sacrifices made by the men and women of our forces in two World Wars and other conflicts. Everyone is welcome to attend.
The Mayor of Sandwell Councillor Richard Jones will lead a small procession which will depart from the Council House at approximately 10.50 am to the War Memorial. The procession will join the Oldbury Branch of The Royal British Legion at the memorial, where the two-minute silence will be observed.
